In October, I joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program with the goal to complete a marathon and to get fit and healthy while supporting men, women and children with cancer. As the nation, and the world, shares an on-going debate about the benefits of healthy living, I decided that I would do my part to promote the merits of a healthy lifestyle. Growing up, I played basketball and volleyball, and was an avid swimmer. After college, though, I struggled to maintain the physical fitness level I was used to, so when I graduated from college in May, I decided it was time to get it back!
I am thrilled to be a part of the Team in Training community and am so excited that, through running, I can support such a wonderful cause. As I train with the team to prepare for the April marathon, I will be raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins lymphoma and myeloma.
Be sure to check my blog and website often as I will be posting training updates, stories, milestones and inspirational thoughts. Please share your own personal stories and let me know if there is someone you would like for me to run in honor or in memory of!
I'm looking forward to sharing my progress with you! Thank you for your interest and shared enthusiasm!
